Video: 4th International Doctoral Conference combined with an information campaign on the Lublin Digital Union

On 9 April 2025, the University of Life Sciences in Lublin had the honour of hosting distinguished researchers and secondary school students as part of a unique event – the 4th International Doctoral Conference: Plant-Animal-Product Environment (IV-SDUPL) combined with an information campaign on “Lublin Digital Union (LUC) – digital solutions and artificial intelligence in medical, natural and technical sciences.”

During the event, the results of research conducted as a part of the Lublin Digital Union Project were presented, along with topics related to artificial intelligence and the use of digital tools in scientific research. Lectures in the first part were given by:

  • Marek Staniszewski (Heurisca Warsaw) entitled ChatGPT Lies?! How (Not) to Trust Artificial Intelligence,
  • Katarzyna Nowomiejska, MD, PhD (Department and Clinic of General and Paediatric Ophthalmology, Medical University of Lublin) entitled Application of artificial intelligence in diagnosing eye diseases,
  • Hanna Karakuła-Juchnowicz, MD, PhD (Clinic of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Early Intervention, Medical University of Lublin) entitled Brain under tension: Digital stimuli and mental health of young people,
  • Dariusz Czerwiński, Professor (Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Lublin University of Technology) entitled AI – opportunity or threat?
  • Daniele Perossa, PhD student (Lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Department of Management, Economics and Engineering) entitled Twin Transition in the European Cosmetics Industry: a survey-based investigation about drivers, barriers, and main strategies implemented to pursue Digital and Green Transitions,
  • Aleksandra Marzec and Kamila Kaszycka, doctoral students (Doctoral School, University of Life Sciences in Lublin) entitled Can animals use digital solutions and artificial intelligence?
